    Product Introduction

In its working principle, the instrument first emits stable infrared light from the light source. This beam enters the Michelson interferometer, where the periodic movement of the moving mirror generates interference light containing information across all wavelengths. When this interference light passes through the analyte placed in the sample cell, the sample molecules selectively absorb infrared energy at specific frequencies, thus allowing the interference light to carry information about the sample's molecular structure.

Subsequently, the detector converts the interference light signal carrying sample information into an electrical signal, which is then sampled at high speed by the computer. Finally, using a Fast Fourier Transform algorithm, the time-domain interferogram is converted into a frequency-domain spectrum, yielding the sample's infrared absorption spectrum with absorbance or transmittance as the ordinate and wavenumber or wavelength as the abscissa.

This technology, leveraging the advantages of Fourier transform, such as high throughput, high signal-to-noise ratio, and high wavenumber accuracy, can rapidly and accurately resolve the molecular structure and chemical composition of substances.

    Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is the spectral range and resolution of the LSPEC 5030?
The LSPEC 5030 covers a spectral range of 4500–700 cm⁻¹ and offers a spectral resolution of up to 0.5 cm⁻¹, making it suitable for detailed molecular structure analysis across a wide range of samples.
Q How does the LSPEC 5030 generate an infrared absorption spectrum?
The instrument uses a Michelson interferometer to produce interference light containing all wavelength information. After passing through the sample, the detector converts the signal into an electrical output. A Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm then converts the time-domain interferogram into a frequency-domain infrared absorption spectrum.
Q What type of detector does the LSPEC 5030 use?
The LSPEC 5030 uses a room-temperature DLaTGS (Deuterated L-Alanine doped Triglycine Sulfate) detector, which provides reliable performance without the need for cryogenic cooling.
Q What are the key advantages of Fourier Transform infrared technology used in this instrument?
The Fourier Transform approach offers several major advantages, including high optical throughput (Jacquinot advantage), an excellent signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 55,000:1, and high wavenumber accuracy of 0.01 cm⁻¹, enabling fast and precise analysis of molecular structures and chemical compositions.
Q What functions does the processing software of the LSPEC 5030 provide?
The included software (Chinese version) supports infrared spectroscopy measurement, spectral data preprocessing, rapid spectral comparison, mixture search, standard peak search, user-built standard libraries, quantitative analysis, and intelligent peak position recognition with alarm functionality.
Q In which fields can the LSPEC 5030 be applied?
Thanks to its superior qualitative and quantitative detection capabilities, the LSPEC 5030 is widely used across scientific research and industrial sectors, including pharmaceuticals, chemical analysis, materials science, food safety testing, environmental monitoring, and polymer characterization.
